Evangelist - PC 2001 System Design Guide
- Responsible for internal coordination of product groups and external
communications/events with major OEMs, IHVs and Microsoft.
- Responsible for early program management which included; working agreement in place with
partner, securing staffing resources, and creating initial project schedule.
Desktop Platform Group (DPG), February 1997 to December 1998
Sr. Technical Marketing Engineer
- Software development of the Intel Panorama Image Tool that creates QTVR movies from
video. This application was used to demonstrate the Pentium II's Processing power during
Intel's Pentium II launch. This resulted in a patent in panoramic imaging.
- Researched and experimented with various "new" multimedia such as DV+1394 and
MP3 audio compression.
- Produced and directed many 3-D animations as demos for Intel executives that described
Pentium II platform architecture (DIB, AGP, 1394, DV, USB
) features. These works
have been shown during keynote address at major computer industry events.
- Managed CGI-HTML database project for use on internal WEB page.
Intel Architecture Labs (IAL), January 1994 - January 1997
Sr. Technical/Product Marketing Engineer
- Gathered market research and competitive analysis for RDX, RSX and Indeo Video
interactive.
- Responsible for creating and managing the beta and product release programs of Intel's
Realistic Display miXer (RDX) sprite engine.
- Evangelist for RDX, through customer visits, trade shows, and WWW site.
- Supported and evangelized Indeo Video interactive and Intel's 3D sound mixer (RSX) on an
as needed basis.
Technical Marketing Engineer
- Designed and wrote multimedia software demonstration applications using digital audio
and video, MIDI music, animation and photo-realistic images for samples and proof of
concept applications.
- Participated in customer visits, press interviews and trade shows describing various
Intel labs software media engines.
- Shot and edited three videos for used as demo media and training of Intel labs software
media engines
Multimedia Software Technology Group (MSTG), November 1991 - December 1993
Prototype Designer
- Key member of the original prototype team of Intel's first multipoint video conferencing
application. The completion of this proof of concept vehicle was the green light for the
formation of Intel's ProShare line product team.
- User interface designer and programmer using MS Visual Basic
Technical Marketing Engineer
- As an early supporter of software only decoded of digital video, I was responsible for
creating a demonstration of the first software video decoder on the PC platform to Andy
Grove. This resulted in approval for funding of Indeo Video and MS-adopted Video for
Windows infrastructure.
Oregon Multibus Solutions Organization (OMSO), May 1990 - November 1991
Technical Marketing Engineer
- Created hardware demonstration of real-time Windows-based operating system kernel
software known as RMK.
Outside software projects, January 1993 - Present
- Image engraver - Wrote software that interfaces with engraver to create images onto
plastic by controlling a desktop sized 3-axis milling machine.
- Audiometer software application - Passive hearing tester using DSP firmware library on
the Turtle Beach audio board.
- FDL (Frame Decision List) Software - Step animation rendering and RS232 VTR interface
controller of the Sony Hi8 EVO9650.
