The Euro-Tan Passenger Train
updated 9-1-99

  • Pictures:

Entire Train (10k) - This is the entire train was put together in PhotoShop using the Coach and Engine scans.

Coach (24k) - This is 1 of 4 matching coaches built for this train.  The color scheme was inspired by various German passenger trains. In fact these simple coaches where created just to work out a color scheme where a ton of tan 2x4's could be used. Also note the 2x4x2 clear (yet scratched) windshields, I really like the aspect ratio and the flexibility of not having a colored pane. And yes there are no doors or vestibules. This train is really just for the amusement of simple LEGO train lovers.

Engine (25k) - This engine was inspired by several different German electric engines. It is not a prototypical copy nor was it meant to be. The wheel configuration is a bit weird. I first used this configuration on my checker train steam loco (see www.pnltc.org). The powered truck is free to swivel but the front single axle is fixed to the body of the engine. It really works well for shorter trains.
