The meeting minutes will be published at a later date. This was the first official meeting of the wg. The first order of business was a summary changes to the charter made since Minneapolis. These changes include addition of using an RFC2914 compliant L4 protocol for transport of ForCES PDUs in the multi-hop scenario and addition of an applicability statement. Jamal Hadi Salim presented an informational contribution about Linux Netlink. There were concerns about this being a jump into solution space. It was clarified that this was relevant prior art but not intended to be a proposed protocol for ForCES at this point. A sense of the room was taken and it was decided that this document would be accepted as an informational contribution to the wg. RFC 2367 was also mentioned as relevant prior art. Jamal and Todd Anderson then presented two sets of requirements drafts. There was significant overlap with divergence on a couple of key points (most importantly, on the question of whether the FE offers services to the CE or the CE offers services to the FE). It was agreed that a design team would be formed to immediately issue a new draft based on the requirements common to both drafts. This consensus requirements doc will be accepted as a wg document (pending a brief review on the mailing list). The design team will continue work on the requirements to resolve the remaining differences.
